School-Age Programs


AHRC New York City operates three schools for students ages 5 to 21:

Brooklyn Blue Feather Elementary School

(for children aged 5 to 11) – located in Sheepshead Bay, Brooklyn, NY

Brooklyn Blue Feather Elementary School

AHRC Middle/High School

(for children aged 12 to 21) – located in Dyker Heights, Brooklyn, NY

AHRC Middle High School

Our school-age programs serve students, (primarily with an autism spectrum disorder,) who have been recommended for a non-public school (NPS) placement.  Students in these programs typically have educational classifications of Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) and/or Emotional Disability (ED) and Other Health Impairment (OHI).

James P Murphy Staten Island Prep

(for children aged 5 to 21) – located in Staten Island, NY

Staten Island Prep serves students diagnosed with autism between the ages of 5-21 and is also approved to educate students with learning disabilities, other health impairments, emotional disability, and or intellectual and developmental disabilities.

AHRC NYC’s school-age programs provide educational services in highly-structured, supportive settings. Our well-trained staff understands the strategies and techniques necessary to successfully instruct students with a specific set of strengths and deficits.


These services are funded by the New York State Education Department
and in New York City, operate with the approval of and under the oversight of
the New York City Department of Education.
